This weekend was The Spring Knitting and Stitching Show in Olympia so I spent the weekend in London with my lovely friend Kerrie to check it out. I traveled in style a la Megabus, which was an experience in itself. Needless to say, I was over an hour late to arrive in London, and there was not enough space in my seat to knit without jabbing the person sitting next to me. Awkward. I had planned to knit squares for the patchwork blanket I am just starting, but had to leave my needles tucked away in my bag.
When we got to the show, I could not believe how many stalls where there! I did not know where to start. There were hundreds of people there and at times we were involved in a crush of knitters. There was lots of card making and stitching stalls (Kerrie decided to to take up cross-stitching) but there were some definite knitting gems hidden in there. I really liked Neil the Knit as I had not heard of it before, and it stocked loads of different colours of my favourite yarn, James C Brett marble chunky. My favourite stall was Crafty Ribbons, they had some really cute knitting themed ribbons with fun messages on and lots of colourful buttons.
The success story of the weekend was my purchase of some addi circular knitting needles, which I used to knit flat on the coach home, horrah! So I managed to knit some squares after all.
