Review: Little Shrimp – Unique Baby Gifts

I was really pleased to be selected to review some fabulous products from a gorgeous baby gift and clothing company based in the South West. Little Shrimp was founded by Donna Barron who put her years of experience working in womens and childrenswear into creating her own unique brand. The range is full of brightly coloured stripes and vibrant, funky prints that really stand out. More importantly, the products are eco-friendly and made from oeko-tex cotton, so are of the highest quality to stand the test of time (and whatever else baby wants to throw at it!) We were lucky enough to be sent a few of these gorgeous products and I am completely in love with them!

Potted Shrimp Baby Hat

This adorable hat comes uniquely packaged in a tin which I think in itself is adorable. The hat is size 0-6 months and is in a cute knotted style which looks adorable on a newborn. The material is just so soft and I love the bright red print with white stars against it – perfect for a boy or a girl. The hat is available in various other prints including Circus, Little Explorer and Love Heart – check out the full range here.

Dribble Cloth

Any parent will tell you how much of a crucial item dribble cloths are! They can be used for burping, a cover-up when feeding, a sun-shade, a blanket, a comforter – the list is endless. I love how different these are from the usual white or pastel ones I used for Ted – they come in the same vibrant prints as the hats. The quality really is exceptional – they are so soft and thick compared to the usual muslin type of material. They come in a pack of two so are also great value for money. Take a look for yourself here!

As an expectant mother I would be so delighted to receive these items as a gift – I think they would make the perfect present for a mum-to-be at a baby shower. I think they are really unusual and I love the fact that they are made in Britain and are ecologically produced. You could buy a matching set or mix and match with the various prints. I am going to be taking the hat and dribble cloth with me in my hospital bag and can’t wait to use them with my newborn. They are exactly the kind of thing I would see in a shop and want to treat myself (well, my baby!) with.

Little Shrimp also has a range of gorgeous all-in-ones which come in a romper style or with optional cosy-toes in the smaller size. I love the ‘Baby Rocket’ print with different coloured stars on a grey background. They also make double-layered comforters and even greetings cards – all uniquely designed and really different from what you might find on the highstreet. Little Shrimp has been a real treasure to find and I have really enjoyed discovering their range. I have my eye on quite a few things on the website already! You can order directly from the Little Shrimp website and they also have around 200 stockists in the UK.
