Review: Snoozeshade

Today we were treated to a glimmer of Summer! Whilst it is lovely to have great weather and finally see the sun, it can also be a little bit worrying with small children. We want them to get outside and enjoy the weather but we also need to protect them from it. Once you’ve have got your sun hats, baby sunglasses and factor 50 sun cream sorted, there is another consideration to make – nap time. If you have a little one who needs a little sleep while you are out and about, you will want to keep them protected in a shady environment which can’t over heat – and that is where Snoozeshade comes in.

Designed by a mum, Snoozeshade creates a shady and well ventilated environment for babies to sleep. You have probably seen the posts on Facebook about how dangerous it is to drape a jacket or a blanket over your pram to shield your baby from the shade – well this is the solution! The dark, breathable material will protect your baby and act as a safe black out blind for your buggy when you are on the go. The design allows the shade to fit over most prams and pushchairs that have a hood, and it is easily secured with the velcro straps. Another great feature is the sneek-a-peek window which allows you to check on baby without waking them. You can use the Snoozeshade indoors when your baby needs to nap – it blocks out the external stimuli and lets them drift off to sleep in peace without becoming overtired and fighting that essential nap.

Nap time for Arthur is something I really struggle with – Ted needs lots of entertainment during the day (as toddlers do!) and often disturbs his baby brother’s nap. It is really difficult to juggle – so I have taken to going for a walk and using the Snoozeshade – Arthur will fall asleep on the way to the park, and once we get there Ted can play and run without disturbing him – perfect! It is really helpful in that respect.
I have two buggies – a Phil & Ted’s Sport double and a Joie Nitro stroller. I can use the Snoozeshade on both – providing I have the hood up. I keep it in the basket of whichever one I am using so I always have it to hand (along with the raincover, you never know!). It is really compact and comes in a handy drawstring bag so it is no trouble to keep with me. The Snoozeshade isn’t just for summer – you can use it all year round to keep baby asleep when you are out and about.
We couldn’t be without our Snoozeshade – have you tried one? Let me know in the comments Xx
