This weekend saw Unravel, a brilliant knitting festival, take place at Farnham Maltings. I visited on the Sunday and could not believe the scale of the event! There were so many people there and amazing exhibitors, and a marketplace full of colour and creations. The entire space at The Maltings, Farnham, was full of knitting enthusiasts.
Highlights for me were discovering this lovely King Cole Galaxy Yarn, that changes colour but also has beautiful sequins on as well! I also managed to get my hands on the Spring edition of Pom Pom Magazine which I have been wanting for some time.
My favourite exhibitor was Tilly Flop Designs who had gorgeous cards and designs, all based around a knitting or sewing theme. I think these would all make such lovely and unique gifts, and I hadn’t seen anything like them before. ( Just a reminder, my birthday is in May… 🙂 )
I had a great surprise too when I got home – I purchased the Unravel 2013 bag which came with a back edition of Knitting Magazine, and it had the pattern for Marshmallow by Rowan – a beautiful multicoloured scarf that I have wanted for ages!
I think the event was a real success and I hope to go again in 2014 – although I wonder if they will need a bigger venue as it seems knitting is experiencing a real revival.
